Quest of Beara was my first 12-hour adventure race ever, and with only 2.5 months to prepare and 150 km in front of us we were in for a treat! I often do 5k runs and when I saw that Quest Adventures was organizing the Quest 12 Beara on the Beara peninsula in Ireland I got interested and applied together with my friend Marek.

We trained together for the last 2.5 months and in this episode, we will tell you how we trained for this triathlon-style adventure race, how we changed our nutrition plan, and what were the main challenges during these 2 months before the race.

We learned a lot from running this race and will surely do more of these adventure races in the future. Although 150 km was no joke we finished the race in one piece and felt like we want more.

You might have heard of the Beyond meat burger or the new versions of so-called cultured meat, but what is actually inside of these NEW meat types?

Or did you maybe see the vertical farms popping up everywhere in large cities now? How do they plant farms vertically and make them grow so fast? In this new podcast episode, Brendan Caulfield and I are talking about the future of foods that are coming to the market.

He will cover the first half of the podcast and talk about cultured meat, vegan food and the Beyond Meat Burger, also other sources of food that will be used in the future like algae and mushrooms. In the second half, I will be talking about the vertical farming projects that are already supplying cities with fresh and healthy vegetables and will look into vertical farms and how they use hydroponic systems to supply the plants with water.

We will also compare everything that we learned in our research to the standard methods of manufacturing food and vegetables to these new ways of sustainably grown food.
